WR coach Gonzales leaves for LSU, part of a bigger shakeup?

Billy Gonzales, who has been Urban Meyer’s wide receiver coach everywhere he’s gone since 2001, has left Florida to join LSU as their “passing game coordinator”, according to Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun.
Gonzales is the second coach to depart this week, joining Charlie Strong who left for Louisville’s head coaching position. Besides his work with the WRs, Gonzales had a reputation as one of Florida’s best recruiters.
While this may appear to be a relatively lateral move, it’s possible Gonzales wants to expand his knowledge or be a part of a different offensive philosophy, or he may felt he as an easier chance of promotion at LSU.
Current offensive coordinator Steve Addazio was promoted over Gonzales last year following Dan Mullen’s departure.
What remains to be seen is how Meyer will address his coaching vacancies. After a year of offensive and red-zone struggles, will Addazio be kept as OC?
Mike Sanford was recently let go as the UNLV head coach after a five-year stint, and he was formerly the offensive coordinator for Urban Meyer at Utah. It will be interesting to see whether Meyer looks to him to now join the staff in Gainesville.
