Kansas talks with Houston Nutt about football vacancy

Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins has current Mississippi coach Houston Nutt on his short list of football head coaching candidates, the Kansas City Star reports.
In 10 seasons at Arkansas and two at Ole Miss, Nutt has compiled an overall record of 92-56 and an SEC record of 51-45.
According to the newspaper, Perkins is moving quickly in his pursuit of the Jayhawks’ next coach after agreeing to a monetary settlement with Mark Mangino, who resigned on Thursday.
Perkins is reportedly in New York to talk to Buffalo coach Turner Gill about the opening.
