Tiger Woods attack – Cupid Jesper Parnevik says sorry to American’s wife Elin
Tiger Woods has come under attack from the golfer who set him up with wife Elin Nordegren.
Swedish Ryder Cup star Jesper Parnevik has issued a public apology to compatriot Nordegren in light of Woods’ confession that he was striving to be a ‘better father and husband’.
World No 1 Woods has faced lurid claims about his private life since injuring himself in a car crash outside his Florida home last week.
There were claims, denied by Woods that Nordegren chased her husband with a golf club immediately before the accident and angry Parnevik advised her to ‘use a driver next time rather than a three-iron’ next time.
‘I feel especially sad about it as I feel sorry for Elin as me and my wife are at fault for hooking her up with him,’ said Parnevik.
‘We probably thought he was a better guy than he is.’
Nordegren worked as an au pair for Parnevik and his wife Mia in 2001.
Woods, 33, has admitted ‘transgressions’ but insisted that the details remained a private matter.
