Republican Governors Warn on Costs to States
There is one group of elected officials who are decidedly unhappy with the health care proposal unveiled by the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada — Republican governors.
The governors, assembled here for a meeting of the Republican Governors Association, denounced the bill on Thursday morning, saying that it would place a heavy burden on their states, which are already overburdened with federal mandates that increase their Medicaid costs.
