If approved a customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours per month will pay about $79.46 beginning in January. The same customer pays about $88.35 now.
Entergy has come under fire for rate hikes, including a 2008 28 percent increase. The company blamed natural gas prices. The company said the average customer’s bill is now 40 percent lower than it was in July and August of 2008.
