As David Jones of Florida Today reports, that is exactly what the No. 1 Gators want and what motivates them the most.
Take the case of linebacker Brandon Spikes. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit called out Spikes before Saturday’s game at then-No. 4 LSU, saying the senior needed to play better. That’s all Spikes needed to hear and exactly what Meyer wanted to hear. According to Jones, Spikes was a madman in the locker room before the game yelling at teammates, “Follow me.”
