MDOT officials violated law

Tom Hood, executive director of the state Ethics Commission, is recommending Commissioners Wayne Brown and Bill Minor be prevented from gathering outside Transportation Commission meetings to discuss any commission business.

The report, authored by Hood, will presented to the full commission, which may vote on the recommendation, next Friday. Hood said, if Brown or Minor object or wish to be heard, the commission would delay proceedings.

Central District Commissioner Dick Hall filed the complain.

Hood’s report found MDOT Executive Director Butch Brown and Commissioners Brown, and Minor had dinner with Madison County Supervisor Tim Johnson and county engineer Rudy Warnock in August.
