A lot new, but Auburn can be old-school, too

AUBURN — There was a month of talk about how Auburn’s freshman wide receivers would contribute immediately, there was great anticipation over the debut of linebacker Eltoro Freeman and there was the mystery of Gus Malzahn’s Wildcat offense.
In the end, Auburn beat Louisiana Tech 37-13 Saturday night with some good ol’ hard-nosed football in a game in which the freshman wide receivers didn’t catch a pass, Freeman didn’t dress out and Malzahn kept at least some of the Wildcat under wraps.
