Rebs ranked 8th, highest since ’70
OXFORD — Ole Miss is ranked No. 8 in The Associated Press preseason college football poll released on Saturday.
It’s the Rebels’ highest preseason ranking since 1970, but after a summer full of Sports Illustrated covers and praise from other national media outlets, the historic moment for the program barely even registered with coach Houston Nutt and the players.
“Honestly, I haven’t put much thought into it,” UM quarterback Jevan Snead said. “And I don’t think we really should.”
