Warrs plead not guilty to new charges
Former Mayor Brent Warr and his wife, Laura, pleaded not guilty to four new charges in federal court this morning of falsifying financial information to secure two bank loans totalling $474,700 in 2003 and 2004, when they bought beachfront property in Gulfport.
An indictment filed last week brings to 20 the number of federal charges faced by each of the Warrs. Prosecutors seek to recover $697,498.10 the government contends the Warrs secured through fraud.
Both Warrs pleaded not guilty to the new charges in the brief court appearance, as they did to the previous allegations.
