SEC in a class by itself

Big Ten Conference football coaches aren’t the only ones who are overly sensitive about the recent dominance of the Southeastern Conference.

At the Pac-10 media gathering last week, Southern Cal coach Pete Carroll and others showed how nervous they are with the growing perception that the SEC is outpacing the rest of college football. Indeed, the coaches appeared to be under a mandate to talk up the product.
