Nutt Issues Statement Regarding Football Signee Hornsby

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss head football coach Houston Nutt announced here Friday that 2009 signee Jamar Hornsby will not play for the Rebel football team.
“I am releasing Jamar Hornsby and he will not be a member of our football team,” Nutt said. “We wish him nothing but the best in the future.”
A 6-foot-3, 215-pound defensive back, Hornsby was an NJCAA second team All-American last year at East Mississippi Community College after spending his freshman season at Florida. The Jacksonville, Fla., native was rated the No. 3 JUCO player in the nation by SuperPrep after totaling 111 tackles, eight passes defended and two interceptions as a sophomore.
