Ole Miss is one of the best universities to work for

University of Mississippi students and alumni often tout the institution’s academic strength, social life, traditions and other qualities as reasons that it’s a great place to matriculate.

According to the July 10 issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education, it’s also one of the 10 best colleges at which to work.

Ole Miss was named to the list after being compared with more than 300 other colleges and universities nationwide. Elements in the rankings included perception of fair treatment, facilities and security, respect and appreciation and confidence in senior leadership, among others.

“We’re certainly proud of this achievement,” said Dr. Dan Jones, who became chancellor on July 1. “It is a testament to the entire university family and a tribute to our previous chancellor, Robert Khayat, and his tenure of leadership.”

“We’re ranked right there with the best of the best,” said Clayton Jones, director of human resources and contract services. “This latest national recognition honors a continued commitment across departmental lines to making the university a great place to work.”
