SEC revenue sharing should be expanded
Given the current state of the economy, the cutbacks taking place on college campuses all over the country that include everything from salary reductions for employees down to out-right layoffs, that little check for $132.5 million the Southeastern Conference presented to its membership Friday comes at a nice time.
What could a university do with an extra $11.1 million right about now? Stop pay cuts for teachers? Continue to fund important research projects? Slow sky-rocketing tuition costs that are making a college education less attainable for the average family?
