Mississippi State, Ole Miss savor $11.1M cash infusion
To any observer, the $132.5 million the Southeastern Conference announced Friday it distributed to its members is impressive.
But for Mississippi’s SEC athletic programs, the approximate $11.1 million each school received is a lifeline.
“For all of us in the league, but especially us, that’s a signifciant part of our budget – almost a third,” Mississippi State athletic director Greg Byrne said. “We’re very fortunate, obviously, to be a member of the Southeastern Conference, and one of the reasons why the league is as strong as it is is they’ve always been very forward thinking as far as revenue sharing.”
