Robert Johnson seeks mayor’s post to fix city’s decline
Two months ago, Robert Johnson pulled out of his driveway, believing he knew every pothole on his street.
“Then I hit one that wasn’t there the day before,” he said, “and nearly tore the rubber off my tire.”
Continuing his journey across Jackson, he encountered a traffic jam – the result of a comatose traffic light, a malfunctioning railroad crossing guard, trash bags spilling garbage near the road and a broken-down city bus that was being towed.
