Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, both Republicans, voted against the president’s stimulus package saying it was too much government spending, they are supporting the $410 billion omnibus budget and have earmarks included. Ironically, Democratic 1st District U.S. Rep. Travis Childers, who supported the stimulus, voted against the budget, as did 4th District U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor, D-Bay St. Louis, who voted against both. Yet, Childers and Taylor still had earmarks. 2nd District U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Bolton, supported both.
