With one week left, it’s going down to the wire. The SEC should get at least four NCAA Tournament bids. Five are possible. Six teams have a shot, at this point, although Auburn is a longshot.
We’re not stopping there. The NIT could have a strong field, and the SEC should be well represented. Check out NIT-ology for the NIT bubble watch. This Web site believes the SEC will get just four NCAA bids, with South Carolina leading the league into the “other” tournament.
I’ve included Alabama as an NIT possibility because of a three-game winning streak and quality games remaining in the regular season with Auburn and Tennessee. If the Tide takes a five-game winning string into the SEC Tournament, it will have a healthy RPI for the NIT to consider.
