‘Acupuncture Day’ today at Miss. Capitol

By: Magnolia Tribune - January 23, 2009

The Clarion-Ledger, 1/22/9

Seeking support for licensed acupuncturists to practice in the state, members of the Mississippi Oriental Medicine Association will hold “Acupuncture Day at the Capitol” today until 5 p.m.

Mississippi is one of five states that does not allow licensed acupuncturists to practice, according to Dennis Holmes of MOMA. Laws in Alabama and Wyoming don’t say acupuncturists can or cannot practice.

State physicians and dentists can perform acupuncture with at least 200 hours of training.
