You knew Nick Saban’s first trip back to Baton Rouge as Alabama’s head coach — his first return since leaving as LSU’s head coach for the Miami Dolphins — was going to be an off-the-charts experience.
But in your wildest of dreams, you couldn’t have come up with this scenario: Saban will lead his Alabama football team onto the Tiger Stadium field Saturday afternoon as the No. 1-ranked team in the nation.
And guess who’s as happy about that as the most ardent of Alabama football fans?
