Jackson-Evers International Airport has been under the microscope of the Department of Homeland Security for the past two years.
A study probed security problems at the airport.
As a result, the department has made 12 recommendations for improvements.
But federal officials will not give specifics on what exaclty they’ve recommended.
Homeland Security Inspector General Richard Skinner began his inquiry following a series of stories from the media in 2006.
The stories highlighted problems at Jackson-Evers International, including allowing Mayor Frank Melton to bring firearms aboard commercial flights, tip-offs of undercover inspections and other security breeches.
