Miss. banks releasing reports on earnings

This will be a big week for Mississippi banks as several release highly anticipated third-quarter earnings reports.

BancorpSouth will release its earnings reports today, followed by Regions and Hancock Bank on Tuesday. Trustmark National Bank will release earnings on Oct. 28.

It is company policy at all four institutions to enter a “blackout period” where banking officials are not allowed to comment on anticipated results of earnings reports. The reports will be watched closely, given the turmoil on Wall Street and the banking industry in the last month.
