The Alabama and Arkansas bosses are winners. They’re also single-minded micromanagers who don’t suffer fools gladly.
Each was foolish enough to think he wanted to be a head coach in the NFL and – later but not too late – smart enough to realize he was wrong.
Before they took turns escaping the NFL for the SEC and holding the title as the most hated coach in college football, Saban and Petrino shared a different distinction.
