ALABAMA NOTEBOOK: Saban pleased with Alabama’s progress

TUSCALOOSA — Alabama coach Nick Saban, noting that it was “hot everywhere,” praised the Crimson Tide for its performance as the Tide completed its ninth practice of the preseason on Thursday.

“I’ve been very happy about the way our team has progressed,” he said. “This is kind of the dog days of two-a-days. Everybody is sore and tired everywhere in the Southeastern Conference, every team that we’ve got to play. And the teams that manage it the best and continue to persevere and improve in difficult circumstances are the ones that have the best chance to make the most significant improvement. I think our team has gotten a little bit better every day.

“I’m pleased with the effort and the progress that we’ve had as a team in practice.”
