Miss. St. to discuss search for president Friday
JACKSON, Miss. –The Mississippi State University presidential search advisory committee will meet Friday to talk about its search.
The 27-member panel was created last month to make recommendations about who should replace Robert “Doc” Foglesong, who abruptly resigned in March after two years on the job.
Committee members will discuss their duties in Starkville with state Higher Education Commissioner Tom Meredith and a consultant hired by the College Board to help find candidates.
Vance Watson, Mississippi State’s interim president, has said he would like to permanently have the job.
The College Board wants to hire a new president this fall.
Foglesong, a retired U.S. Air Force general, said he thought he accomplished everything he set out to do.
