Polk: “John will do a great job”
I just finished a Q&A with a much calmer Ron Polk than the one I spoke with a few days ago. He says he is still hurt that Tommy Raffo wasn’t hired, but he realizes he should have toned down his remarks.
The following are my questions I had for Polk, who was in his office packing his belongings.
Me: Coach, some say you came off as a spoiled brat who didn’t get his way. How do you respond to that?
Polk: I’m not a spoiled kid. I teach kids to be loyal to their associates and other people all the time. I felt the transition would be smoother with Tommy and he’s been loyal to me and this university. I don’t think I’m a spoiled brat, but I knew when I said the things I did I would take some flack. If someone were to come up to me and say they didn’t like what I said, I would tell them never to question my loyalty.
