Miss. House ends its session early without addressing most of Gov’s requests

Miss. House ends its session after vote on employment agency

The Mississippi House has voted 67-50 to end its part of the special session without doing most things the governor wanted.

Senators were still working – and if they remain at the Capitol at least three days, the House could be forced to return.

The House left after approving one bill to keep the Mississippi Department of Employment Security alive and another to tweak the existing laws governing toll roads.

Left unfinished were Barbour’s proposals for voter identification, metal recycling and immigration.
