McCain sets cash-support stops in Miss. for Monday

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 28, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger, 3/28/8

Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s Mississippi ties are the reason he’ll be in the state Monday meeting with supporters and asking for votes in the November general election.

More details on the Arizona U.S. senator’s so-called “Service to America” tour are expected to be released today, campaign officials confirmed with The Clarion-Ledger Thursday.

On Monday morning McCain, accompanied by wife Cindy, is expected to speak at Mississippi State University’s Riley Center in Meridian.

In the afternoon, the McCains will move to Jackson for a $1,000-a-plate fundraiser and luncheon at the University Club, according to an e-mail sent out to members of the Madison County Republican Women. GOP Gov. Haley Barbour, among others, will be present.
