All newly elected legislators – except one – were sworn into office earlier this month.
A final winner in the Senate District 21 race to represent Attala, Holmes, Madison and Yazoo counties is still to be determined.
A special Senate committee is expected to make its recommendation by Friday on whether Canton Alderman Kenny Wayne Jones keeps the seat he narrowly won last year against incumbent Sen. Joseph Thomas of Yazoo City.
