City Council will take up smoking ban for Jackson

The Jackson City Council might ask smokers in bars and restaurants to put out their cigarettes – for good.

Officials are considering a smoking ban in all enclosed places open to the general public.

The council’s planning committee will hold a public hearing on the issue at 3 p.m. today at City Hall.
