Yesterday and last night I spent emailing back-and-forth with various reporters, lawyers, and other well-placed sources, all of us having freshly received similar warnings:

Think bigger now.

All right, y’all in Oxford, the Delta, the red-clay hills — even beyond Mississippi — here comes your Cat 5. Yes, board-up your place this weekend, but don’t neglect to get some food and rest in you. You’re gonna have some incredible hanging-on to do, and it won’t help to go into it keyed-up and already exhausted. So I’m telling you: breathe.

Because in a very few days, a lot of great big ol’ trees will be down, out by their roots, having taken houses and yards with them. Godspeed to you.
