Bryant sets game plan for session

A formula to provide adequate public education will be fully funded. A program that provides children’s health insurance may face cuts. And lawmakers’ actions could be broadcast on the Internet.

Those issues were among the topics touched upon Thursday by Republican Lt. Gov.-elect Phil Bryant, who unveiled his agenda for the 2008 session during a policy summit with senators at the Jackson Marriott. The conference began on the same day Gov. Haley Barbour told reporters about some of his priorities for the session, which include a health insurance exchange for small businesses and a study of how Mississippians are taxed.
