Central Mississippi’s hopes for having its transportation issues expeditiously solved may have been killed by a bridge on Tuesday.
The transportation commissioner’s race for the 22-county district that spans the state from Cleveland to Port Gibson and Vicksburg across the Jackson metro area to Meridian was between Republican Dick Hall and Democrat Rudy Warnock.
The triumvirate of Brown, Brown & Minor continues. The elected Central District commissioner has already been banished by BB&M into exile to a trailer in Rankin County (what’s next, a pup tent?) and his staff moved out of Jackson.
The Legislature should stop BB&M thumbing their noses at voters and start the reform of MDOT in January, with appointive leadership answerable to the governor.
