EAVES CONTRIBUTES TO ANTI-SOUTHWICK DEMOCRATS
John Arthur Eaves Jr. supports Democrats who tried to block Judge Leslie Southwick
Today, the United States Senate invoked cloture for the confirmation of Mississippi’s Judge Leslie Southwick to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. But several Democrats voted against cloture and sought to block Judge Southwick by a filibuster. Some of those Democrats are funded by John Arthur Eaves, Jr.
“John Arthur Eaves’ liberal friends in Washington DC tried again to block another conservative, Mississippi nominee from serving on the federal appeals court. It is a disgrace liberal Democrats would try to block such a qualified and respected nominee. It is equally disgraceful that Mr. Eaves would support these kind of national liberals who oppose Mississippi conservatives. Eaves’ friends blocked Charles Pickering; they blocked Mike Wallace; now they have tried to block Leslie Southwick. After hearing Senator Clinton’s opinion of Mississippi yesterday, we don’t need anymore John Arthur Eaves type liberal Democrats,” said Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Jim Herring.
