Hood defends contract awarded to political donor
A $14 million legal fee negotiated after the settlement was shared by Langston’s firm and a Louisiana firm.
Langston gave a $100,000 contribution to Hood and a similar amount to the Democratic Attorneys General Association, which then contributed to Hood.
“I cannot believe that state contracts are being absolutely shuffled out to attorneys for campaign contributions to elected officials,” Hopkins said last week. “That, to me, is absolutely corrupt. It’s wrong.”
