The Endorsements Keep Rolling In
Last week, I received the good news that the NRA has endorsed my campaign for Attorney General! I don’t have to tell you just how influential the NRA is all across our state, and their addition to our team is another strong sign of our support growing every day.
The NRA’s endorsement comes from my strong support of our Second Amendment rights. A Life Member of the NRA, I am proud to have earned an “A” rating from their Political Victory Fund and the support of their members and my fellow sportsmen.
In addition to the NRA, Mississippi Right to Life recently announced their endorsement of my campaign. They agree with me that in these days of constant assault on our traditional values, it’s essential that our Attorney General be personally committed to the pro-life cause. For some perspective on the importance of their endorsement, consider in 2003 they endorsed Jim Hood, but like so many others, they’ve realized Jim Hood is more concerned about enriching his political contributors than fighting for the values and goals of Mississippians.
I’m also proud to announce the endorsement of the Mississippi Association of Drug Enforcement Officers. The drug crisis in our state is linked to so many other crimes, and it must be tackled head on. You can count on me to do that with tenacity, because our Attorney General must be the leader of the law enforcement community, working with state and local narcotics agents, as well as local district attorneys, to root out the drug problem from every neighborhood.
These 3 organizations are just the latest to agree that it’s time for Mississippi to hire a new attorney. So far, I’m grateful to be supported by the political committees of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association, Mississippi State Medical Association, Associated General Contractors, Associated Builders and Contractors, Mississippi Police Benevolent Association, and the National Federation of Independent Business. They’re all an integral part of the solid coalition of support that is propelling us to victory.
New TV Ad Airing Statewide
We’ve recently launched our next television ad airing across the state that documents Jim Hood as the “Toast of the Town” to his political contributors. The ad illustrates the type of conversation Jim Hood’s campaign donors are having behind closed doors.
Hopkins Campaign Release
10/9/7
Shamefully, Jim Hood has repeatedly given state contracts to lawyers and law firms that have given him over $400,000 to his political campaign. It’s wrong. It’s a system of corruption that we cannot allow to continue.
