City may have to repay $519K in federal grants

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 1, 2007

The Clarion-Ledger, 10/1/7

The city of Jackson might have to repay about $519,000 in federal law enforcement grants awarded as far back as 1998.

U.S. Department of Justice records show some of the money was spent after the two-year window in which the city had to use it.

Other money was never spent, and internal auditors are seeking details on what happened to some funding.
