City looks for money to offset some cuts

Three days before the deadline to adopt the fiscal 2008 budget, the Jackson City Council is seeking money to offset cuts to JATRAN and Parks and Recreation .

Mayor Frank Melton administration’s proposed budget contains a $1 million cut to JATRAN and an $800,000 cut to Parks and Recreation. Also, it offers Community Improvement the same $1.1 million it received this fiscal year.
