More than 100 people – including local politicians, supporters of the Republican party and even a few wholly unaffiliated spectators – crowded the sidewalk at 140 Brickerton Street Wednesday afternoon to greet Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour at the grand opening of his new Columbus campaign headquarters.
The headquarters, an office in the Brickerton shopping complex, will be the main local campaign hub of Barbour’s bid for re-election in November. It’s also intended as a centralized headquarters for members of all upcoming Republican campaigns in the Golden Triangle.
