Four candidates will run for the Ward 1 City Council seat vacated by former Councilman Ben Allen who resigned in June.
Today was the deadline to qualify for the $25,000 a year post. Their names will appear on the ballot for a special open election on Aug. 14. The winner will serve until 2009 when the term ends.
