The Bolivar Commercial, 7/13/7
With only a little over three weeks left to go before the Aug. 7 Democratic and Republican Primary elections, absentee ballots for Bolivar Countians are still unavailable. A delay in absentee ballots means that some voters may be disenfranchised. The residents being denied their right to vote could include the elderly, the handicapped and college students or others far from home, such as the fighting men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces stationed overseas or around the country.
The right to vote is one of the many freedoms for which these soldiers are fighting and putting their lives on the line.
