Ross Reveals Education Agenda

STATE SENATOR CHARLIE ROSS REVEALS EDUCATION AGENDA

State Senator Charlie Ross, the conservative candidate for lieutenant governor, today released the third chapter of the Ross Action Agenda dealing with education. The agenda outlines Senator Ross’ plan to ensure Mississippi’s education system prepares our students for the workforce of the 21st Century.

“We have a responsibility to give our next generation the tools to succeed in today’s workforce,” Senator Ross said. “With conservative principles, we can ensure our children have the resources to be ready for either college or industry upon their graduation.”

The Ross Action Agenda for education outlines five initiatives aimed at moving Mississippi’s education system forward, including the continued full funding of adequate education, a dual track approach to workforce training in Mississippi’s secondary schools, monetary incentives for teachers to remain in the classroom past retirement eligibility, incentives and programs to allow those with professional experience outside the classroom to teach, and increasing funding for higher education.

“By providing our educators with the resources necessary to help our students succeed, we can concentrate on our ultimate goal: results,” Senator Ross said. “The future of Mississippi is bright, and through committing ourselves to our youth, we can make it even brighter.”
