HARRISON: Melton fries himself as state candidate
But for whatever it is worth, Marshall County native Gary Anderson, who previously served as state fiscal officer and lost the treasurer’s race to Tate Reeves in 2003, stands, in my humble opinion, an even money’s shot at being elected insurance commissioner this year.
Anderson, an African-American, may not have Melton’s zeal, but he does have some statewide name identification and an impressive resume.
But based on my past predictions, Anderson probably would rather I keep my mouth shut.
