Earlier this year, officials with PACCAR Inc., the Bellevue, Wash.-based parent company of Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks, announced plans to begin construction on a $400 million powertrain manufacturing and assembly facility somewhere in the Southeast.
A visit to the northeast portion of the Crossroads megasite, located near the Golden Triangle Regional Airport, and adjacent areas shows activity matching speculation the money is for a $400 million engine plant to be built for PACCAR Inc.
