Man Shot, Killed in Dreyfus Street Home
Jackson Police have had their hands full with murder investigations this week. The latest happened around 9:30 Thursday morning at 823 Dreyfus Street in Jackson.
It might just be eerie coincidence that the house where Thursday’s shooting death occurred is next door to the house where a 93-year-old woman was brutally stabbed by an intruder last August. Melcenia Bell died of her injuries a few months later.
The most recent victim died on the scene. Police arrested 49-year-old Phyllis Berry about an hour later Thursday. She was charged late Thursday with murder. Berry and the victim were roommates at the house.
