A Hinds County grand jury has returned a murder indictment against a former Jackson public school teacher.
Jackson police arrested Elisha Hughes in March after an investigation that stretched over several months. Investigators believe she shot and killed her husband, Brian Hughes, at their North Jackson home last year.
Hughes told officers she was asleep when she was awakened by gunshots. Right now Hughes is out of jail on bond awaiting her trial date.
