As across Mississippi, citizens in the metro area will be going to the polls on Tuesday to elect municipal leaders in party primaries – many amounting to elections outright.
Whether the municipality is Learned, the smallest in the state, or Jackson, the largest, the issues are the same:
Crime/public safety;
Housing/zoning/neighborhoods;
Town development/character/quality of life;
Transportation/fixing potholes;
Infrastructure/taxes/fees/costs of services.
People can get riled about national and state politics, but these issues are about where you live! And Tuesday is the day Mississippians can do something about them by voting.
