Mayoral ad blitz hits city’s airwaves
Democratic Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.’s ads have tried to get across at least three points:
Melton lied about his residency;
Melton is a Republican disguised as a Democrat;
Johnson’s work to add nearly 200 police officers to the force over the past eight years.
Democratic challenger Frank Melton’s ads have tried to get this across:
Melton’s community activism and “I think you know me and I think you know I’ll get results” attitude;
The city’s lack of leadership, especially within the police department;
His commitment to rebuild the inner city.
