BATON ROUGE, La. - LSU made it look easy as expected Friday afternoon in a 12-1 whipping of error-prone Texas Southern in the first game of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional baseball tournament.
After surprising everyone and winning the SWAC Tournament title to get to the NCAA Regional, TSU got a serious dose of reality against the No. 1 seed.
TSU committed three errors, but it seemed like many more as LSU cruised through the Tigers from Texas.
"We made some critical errors at the beginning and in the middle innings," said Candy Robinson, TSU head coach. "We gave the LSU pitchers four or five outs and gave LSU hitters four or five outs when we probably should have gotten three outs."
