The New You
God doesn’t save us just so that we can escape hell and go to heaven. Wonderful as our rescue is, His plan for us and the world is much grander than that! In Christ, God is working to “reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross” (Colossians 1:19-20).

Continual Worship
Christ is the object of all our worship. He is the source of all our joy. He is the one who deserves all our obedience. He is the focus of all our praise. And we are accepted in Him. These early disciples understood that. Do we? Our worship, joy, obedience, and praise are pleasing to God not because of anything we have done but in light of His gracious work within us.

Mississippi Profile: Sherye Simmons Green
Green’s career took another turn when she was approached to help tell the tale of a woman’s escape from Nazi Germany. “God brought a great gift into my life in August of 2019 when the daughter of a World War II survivor contacted me to ask if I would be interested in helping her mother tell her story. My answer was an immediate, “Yes!”’ said Green. Surviving Hitler, Evading Stalin: One Woman’s Remarkable Escape from Nazi Germany was released one year later, in November 2020. The subject of the memoir, Milddred Schindler Jenzen, is 94 and lives in Kansas, and still tells her story to groups today.

Tate Taylor brings Hollywood to Natchez
The city of Natchez, though small, is big on history and intrigue. Positioned high on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, Natchez is old, dating back to 1716 – by far the oldest settlement on the river. It is so old that it has over 1,000 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From grand Antebellum homes to mid-century modern commercial buildings, just about every decade since the city was founded is represented in its architecture. That’s one of the things that makes Natchez an ideal spot as the Hollywood of the South.

A Call to Listen
If being too quick to speak with our tongues makes us too slow to listen to God and to others, so also does being quick to anger in our hearts. And in many cases, a fast flow of words is the sign of a quick temper. Heat and passion are not necessarily expressions of fidelity and godliness. They may be the opposite, and our forcefulness may be a cause of stumbling rather than of helpfulness.

A Living Hope
Our hope is also eternal. God promises believers a future inheritance that is absolutely certain. Peter describes for us the unique nature of this inheritance; it is untouched by death, unstained by evil, and unimpaired by time.
